ARTIST STATEMENT:
I agree with Joseph Raffael, who said "for me painting is the subject of the painting." I find painting a microcosm of life and the lessons learned in painting also apply to life in general. Avoiding ego is one of the more important lessons in growing as a painter and as a person. Watercolor to a great extent has a mind of its own and sometimes the best result is when you let the paint do its own thing. About two years ago I started doing paintings on an ipad. I find it absolutely fascinating and although I consider myself a novice I am quite pleased with the results.
