Jean Prytyskacz
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Jean Prytyskacz has been involved in photography for over 25 years. She is mostly self-taught,
taking courses whenever she can. She likes taking photographs of many different subjects, whether it’s
urban, nature, landscape or people. Jean attended the SUC at Buffalo for journalism and has worked for
various publications and companies over the years. She also attended the New York Film Academy to pursue
filmmaking. Jean has co-chaired photography with David Ruskin (now retired), at the WSAC since
spring 2004. She has curated numerous photography shows at the Broadway Mall and
several other venues. Some of these venues were: Licht Blick Gallery on LI, a Williamsburg loft, the
Manhattan Borough President’s Office, the Countee Cullen and the Tompkins Square libraries, and the American
Youth Hostels.
