Artist Statement
Ms. Georgianna Grantham was born in Harlem, N.Y.C. In a Christian household with both working parents. Her mother, an inexhaustible source of strength and encouragement. As a Barbizon model Georgianna developed her fashion and sense of style. She went on to become a freelance designer of reversible placemats sets and pillows. Gallery and studio magazine: "Georgianna for example, showed fabric placemat designs that functioned superbly as geometric abstractions when artfully arranged in frames and hung on the gallery wall. Indeed, Grantham's designs were now indistinguishable from fabric collages, demonstration that is art context is often everything and can determine our perception of what is and what is not a work of art." Georgianna is also a self-taught abstract painter and mixed media artist that reflects her personality. Her signature themes are Kenta colors and acrylic on canvas. Georgianna is a longtime member at the West Side Arts Coalition.
