Ava Schonberg

Artist Statement:
    My paintings reflect my impressions from my travels in the Middle east and Europe. In these paintings I use semi abstract architectural motifs, with no particular architectural style, preferring to present them as  simplified shapes in order to create a unified decorative theme. With the application of many layers of color on each shape I achieve a balance intensity and a sense of flat texture by eliminating shadow  and perspective I have reduced the composition to its simplest elements of color and form.
