Statement:
Tannenbaum's
paintings in Geometric to Poured Paint have evolved from his
desire to expand the boundaries of abstract art in the late
20th century. The work on exhibit ranges from earlier Geometric
to the latest Poured Paint - spanning a period of twenty years.
Tannenbaum
reveals a consistent and mature series of paintings that accommodates
contradictions - pictorial structures that are both solid and
fluid. His work can be defined as an exploration of the concept
of where the planned and controlled meets the accidental.
